The Lull 844C forklift is operated using a series of levers and pedals that control lifting, tilting, and steering. The primary controls include the joystick for boom operation, pedals for acceleration and braking, and a steering wheel for direction.
Starting issues may be due to battery problems, faulty ignition, or fuel delivery issues. Check the battery connections and charge, inspect the ignition switch for defects, and ensure there is adequate fuel reaching the engine.
Regular maintenance should include daily checks of fluid levels, tire condition, and operational controls. Scheduled maintenance should be performed every 250 hours of operation, including oil changes, filter replacements, and a thorough inspection of all systems.
Ensure the load is within the forklift's capacity, properly balance the load on the forks, and use the boom and tilt functions to maintain stability. Always keep the load low while moving and avoid sudden movements.
If the forklift overheats, immediately shut down the engine to prevent damage. Check the coolant level, inspect the radiator for blockages, and ensure the fan is functioning properly. Allow the engine to cool before attempting repairs.
To improve fuel efficiency, regularly maintain the engine, use the appropriate grade of fuel, and avoid idling for long periods. Operate the forklift smoothly and avoid excessive acceleration.
Hydraulic system failures can be caused by low fluid levels, contaminated hydraulic fluid, worn seals, or damaged hoses. Regularly inspect the system for leaks, replace filters, and ensure fluid levels are maintained.
Store the forklift in a dry, sheltered location. Lower the forks to the ground, engage the parking brake, and disconnect the battery if storing for an extended period. Perform a pre-storage inspection to ensure all components are in good condition.
To adjust the forks, disengage the locking mechanism, slide the forks to the desired width, and re-engage the lock. Ensure the forks are evenly spaced and secure before lifting a load.
Operators should wear appropriate safety gear, conduct a pre-operation inspection, and ensure the area is clear of hazards. Always operate the forklift within its load capacity and adhere to all safety guidelines.
