To start the JLG 534D-9 2007 forklift, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the transmission is in neutral, and all controls are in the neutral position. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position and wait for the glow plug indicator to go off before starting the engine.
Routine maintenance should be performed every 250 operating hours or quarterly, whichever comes first. This includes checking fluid levels, inspecting hoses and belts, and lubricating moving parts.
JLG recommends using a high-quality hydraulic oil that meets or exceeds ISO VG 46 specifications. Always refer to the owner's manual for the specific type recommended.
To troubleshoot a hydraulic leak, first, clean the suspected area thoroughly. Then, operate the forklift at low speed to identify the source of the leak. Inspect hoses, fittings, and seals for damage or wear. Replace any components that are leaking.
When operating on a slope, ensure the load is facing uphill. Drive slowly and avoid sudden movements. Do not exceed the forklift's slope operating limits as specified in the operator's manual.
To reset the maintenance reminder, turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position without starting the engine. Press and hold the reset button on the dashboard until the maintenance light blinks and then turns off.
Engine overheating can be caused by low coolant levels, a malfunctioning thermostat, or a blocked radiator. Check and refill coolant levels, inspect the thermostat for proper operation, and ensure the radiator is clean and free of obstructions.
If the forklift is not lifting loads properly, check the hydraulic fluid level and refill if necessary. Inspect the hydraulic system for leaks or damaged components. Verify that the load does not exceed the forklift's lifting capacity.
To adjust the forks, ensure the forklift is on a level surface and the engine is off. Disengage the fork locking mechanism and slide the forks to the desired width. Re-engage the locking mechanism securely before operation.
Difficulty starting in cold weather can be due to insufficient battery power or issues with the glow plugs. Ensure the battery is fully charged and the glow plugs are functioning properly. Consider using a block heater if available.
