The recommended daily maintenance routine includes checking fluid levels (engine oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant), inspecting tires for damage and proper inflation, examining the forks and mast for wear or damage, and ensuring all lights and alarms are functional.
Start by checking the hydraulic fluid level and inspecting for leaks. Ensure the hydraulic filter is clean and not clogged. If issues persist, inspect hydraulic lines and connections for wear or damage, and consult the service manual for pressure testing procedures.
First, check the battery connections and charge. Ensure the fuel level is adequate and the fuel filter is not clogged. Inspect the starter motor and ignition switch for faults. If the problem persists, consult the service manual for further electrical diagnostics.
To adjust the forks, ensure the forklift is on a flat surface. Unlock the fork carriage lever, slide the forks to the desired width, and lock them securely. Confirm that the forks are level and aligned before operating.
Key safety checks include ensuring the seat belt is functional, testing the horn and lights, checking the brakes, and visually inspecting the machine for any visible damage or leaks. Ensure the load capacity is not exceeded.
The air filter should be inspected and cleaned every 250 hours of operation and replaced every 500 hours or as needed, depending on operating conditions and environmental factors.
To change the engine oil, warm up the engine to operating temperature, then shut it off. Drain the old oil by removing the drain plug, replace the oil filter, and refill with the recommended oil type and quantity. Check for leaks and verify oil level.
Check the coolant level and inspect for leaks in the cooling system. Ensure the radiator is clean and not obstructed. Verify the fan belt is in good condition and properly tensioned. Consider flushing the cooling system if overheating persists.
Unusual noises may result from loose components, inadequate lubrication, or worn parts. Inspect moving parts for wear and ensure all bolts and nuts are tightened. Lubricate joints and bearings as specified in the maintenance manual.
Store the forklift in a dry, sheltered area to protect it from weather elements. Engage the parking brake, lower the forks to the ground, disconnect the battery if stored for extended periods, and cover the forklift to prevent dust accumulation.
