The recommended oil type for the Kohler KD477-2 engine is SAE 10W-30 or SAE 15W-40, depending on the ambient temperature.
It is recommended to change the oil every 100 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first.
Ensure the fuel valve is open, set the throttle to the start position, and turn the ignition key to the start position until the engine starts.
Check for sufficient fuel, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify that the battery is properly charged.
Stop the engine immediately, allow it to cool, check the coolant level, and inspect the radiator and hoses for blockages or leaks.
Regularly check and change the oil, clean or replace the air filter, inspect fuel lines, and check the spark plug for wear.
Drain the fuel system, change the oil, clean the exterior, remove the battery, and store the engine in a dry and cool place.
Ensure regular maintenance, keep the air filter clean, use proper fuel, and avoid overloading the engine.
Signs include difficulty starting, misfiring, engine running rough, and decreased performance.
Locate the idle speed screw on the carburetor, turn it clockwise to increase and counterclockwise to decrease the idle speed, until the desired RPM is achieved.
