To change the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever near the wheels. Move the lever to the desired position to adjust the cutting height. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than E10, as they can damage the engine.
It is recommended to sharpen the blades at least once per mowing season or after 25 hours of use. Dull blades can tear grass, leading to a poor cut and potential lawn damage.
Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is fresh. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Make sure the air filter is clean and unobstructed. If the problem persists, consider consulting a professional technician.
First, remove the air filter cover. Carefully take out the air filter. If it's a foam filter, wash it with mild soap and water, then let it dry completely. For paper filters, tap it gently to remove debris or replace it if it's too dirty. Reinstall the filter and cover.
Use SAE 30 motor oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for colder conditions. The engine oil capacity is approximately 48 ounces (1.42 liters).
Regularly maintain your mower by sharpening the blades, changing the oil, cleaning the air filter, and checking tire pressure. Also, mow when the grass is dry to avoid clumping and ensure a cleaner cut.
To winterize, start by draining the fuel tank or adding a fuel stabilizer. Change the engine oil and remove the battery for storage. Clean the mower deck and blades thoroughly and store the mower in a dry, sheltered area.
Inspect the belt for wear and tension. If it's loose or damaged, replace it with a new belt. Refer to the user manual for the correct belt replacement procedure and part specifications.
Use a tire pressure gauge to check the tire pressure, which should typically be around 10-15 psi, depending on the model specifications. Inflate the tires as needed to ensure even cutting and proper traction.
