To thread the Janome US-2022, start by raising the presser foot and positioning the needle at its highest point. Follow the threading path indicated on the machine, ensuring the thread is securely placed in the tension discs and through the needle eye from front to back.
First, check that the machine is threaded correctly and the bobbin is inserted properly. Make sure the needle is not bent or dull. Also, verify that you are using the correct needle and thread type for your fabric.
Regularly clean the bobbin area and feed dogs using a small brush. Oil the machine as per the user manual's instructions, and have it serviced by a professional annually to ensure longevity and optimal performance.
Check that the machine is threaded correctly and that the bobbin is wound evenly. Adjust the tension settings gradually while testing on a fabric scrap until the stitches are balanced on both sides.
First, turn off the machine and raise the needle to its highest position. Loosen the needle clamp screw, remove the old needle, and insert a new needle with the flat side facing the back. Tighten the needle clamp screw securely.
A knocking noise can be caused by a bent needle, incorrect threading, or a loose presser foot. Check these components and re-thread the machine if necessary. Replace the needle if it is bent or damaged.
Ensure the presser foot pressure is appropriate for the fabric type. Use the correct needle and thread size, and hold the thread tails when starting a seam to avoid bunching.
Skipped stitches can result from using a bent or dull needle, incorrect threading, or incompatible thread and needle for the fabric. Replace the needle and ensure proper threading.
Use the stitch length dial located on the front of the machine. Turn the dial to select the desired stitch length, which ranges from 0 to 4 mm, depending on your project requirements.
Ensure the feed dogs are engaged and clean. Check that the presser foot is down and the presser foot pressure is adequate for the fabric type. Adjust the pressure if necessary.
