To thread the Janome 128, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the machine. 2. Raise the presser foot and needle to the highest position. 3. Place the spool on the spool pin. 4. Pull the thread through the thread guide and continue through the tension discs. 5. Thread the needle from front to back.
Ensure you are using the correct needle for your fabric type. Re-thread the machine, making sure the thread is properly seated in the tension discs. Check that the needle is not bent or dull, and replace it if necessary.
Regularly clean your machine by removing the needle plate and using a brush to clear out lint and debris. Oil the machine as per the instructions in the manual, focusing on the bobbin area and moving parts. Always turn off and unplug the machine before cleaning.
Thread bunching can be caused by incorrect threading or tension settings. Re-thread both the top thread and bobbin, ensuring they are correctly seated. Adjust the tension settings gradually to find the optimal balance.
Adjust the tension using the tension dial located on the front of the machine. Increase the tension for tighter stitches and decrease for looser stitches. Test on a scrap fabric to achieve the desired stitch quality.
For denim fabric, it is recommended to use a size 16/100 or 18/110 needle to handle the thickness and density of the material effectively.
Place an empty bobbin on the bobbin winder spindle. Guide the thread from the spool to the bobbin winder tension disc. Wind the thread around the bobbin a few times, push the spindle to the right, and start the machine to wind the bobbin.
A loud noise may indicate that the machine needs cleaning or oiling. Check for any trapped threads or lint, particularly around the bobbin area, and remove them. Ensure that all parts are properly tightened and secured.
Uneven stitches can be due to incorrect tension settings or using an inappropriate needle. Ensure the machine is threaded correctly and the fabric is feeding evenly. Adjust the tension and use the right needle for the fabric type.
Check that the machine is properly plugged in and the power switch is on. Inspect the foot pedal connection and ensure it is securely attached. If the machine still won't start, consult the manual for troubleshooting or contact customer support.
