Janome TB30 Instruction Book

To thread the Janome TB30, start by raising the presser foot and turning the handwheel toward you to raise the needle. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin and guide the thread through the thread guide. Follow the numbered threading path down to the needle and insert the thread through the needle eye from front to back.
If the TB30 isn't picking up the bobbin thread, ensure that the needle is inserted correctly and is not bent. Check that the bobbin is placed in the bobbin case with the thread feeding in the correct direction. Rethread both the upper and bobbin threads and test again.
To adjust the tension on the Janome TB30, use the tension dial located on the front of the machine. For lighter fabrics, lower the tension setting; for heavier fabrics, increase the tension. Test on a scrap fabric to ensure the stitch quality meets your needs.
If your TB30 is skipping stitches, check that the needle is the correct type and size for the fabric. Ensure the needle is properly installed and not bent or damaged. Re-thread the machine and test the stitching on a piece of scrap fabric.
The Janome TB30 requires minimal lubrication, but it is recommended to oil it every few months if you use it frequently. Apply a drop of sewing machine oil to the hook race and other moving parts as specified in the user manual.
To change the needle on the Janome TB30, turn off the machine and raise the needle to its highest position using the handwheel. Loosen the needle clamp screw and remove the old needle. Insert the new needle with the flat side facing the back and tighten the needle clamp screw securely.
Unusual noises can be caused by a variety of issues. First, check that the machine is threaded correctly and that there are no tangles. Inspect the needle to ensure it is not bent or damaged. Clean the bobbin area of any lint or debris and ensure the bobbin is properly installed.
Clean your Janome TB30 regularly by removing lint and thread debris from the bobbin area and feed dogs with a small brush. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents. Refer to the manual for detailed cleaning instructions.
If the fabric isn't feeding properly, check the feed dogs to ensure they are raised and not obstructed. Verify that the presser foot pressure is adjusted for the fabric type. Ensure the presser foot is down while sewing.
For electrical issues, first check that the power cord is securely plugged in and the outlet is working. Inspect the foot pedal for any visible damage. If issues persist, consult a qualified technician as electrical repairs should not be attempted by untrained individuals.
