Janome ME 4123 Instruction Book

To thread the Janome ME 4123, raise the presser foot, turn the handwheel to raise the needle, and follow the threading path indicated on the machine. Ensure the thread passes through the tension discs and the needle eye.
Ensure you are using the correct needle size and type for your fabric. Check that the needle is correctly installed and not bent. Also, verify that the machine is threaded correctly and the tension is set appropriately.
Locate the tension dial on the machine. For tighter tension, turn the dial to a higher number; for looser tension, turn it to a lower number. Test on a scrap fabric to ensure the stitches are balanced.
Skipped stitches can result from a dull or bent needle, incorrect threading, or improper bobbin placement. Replace the needle, rethread the machine, and ensure the bobbin is correctly inserted.
Regularly clean the machine by removing lint and dust using a small brush. Oil the moving parts as indicated in the manual. Ensure the machine is unplugged before cleaning.
To change the presser foot, raise the presser foot lever, press the foot release lever at the back of the foot holder, and remove the foot. Align the new foot, lower the presser foot lever to snap it into place.
First, turn off and unplug the machine. Remove the fabric, needle, and bobbin. Clear any tangled thread and lint. Rethread the machine and check for smooth operation.
Ensure the needle is installed correctly and the machine is threaded properly. Check that the bobbin is inserted correctly and that the bobbin case is clean and free of lint.
Attach the buttonhole foot, select the buttonhole stitch on the machine, and position the fabric under the foot. Lower the buttonhole lever and follow the machine instructions to complete the buttonhole stitching.
Unusual noises may indicate that the machine needs cleaning or lubrication. Check for any loose screws, ensure proper threading, and verify that the needle is not bent.
