To thread the Janome Magnolia 7360, first raise the presser foot and turn the handwheel to raise the needle. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin. Pull the thread through the thread guide, then down and around the tension dial. Guide it up through the take-up lever and down to the needle, threading it from front to back.
If the machine is skipping stitches, ensure that you are using the correct needle for your fabric. Check that the needle is not bent or dull and is inserted correctly. Re-thread the machine, ensuring the thread is correctly placed in the tension disks. Also, verify that the bobbin is properly inserted.
Regularly clean your machine by removing lint and dust using a small brush or vacuum attachment. Oil the machine as per the manual's instructions, usually around the bobbin area. Ensure the machine is unplugged before cleaning. Service the machine annually for optimal performance.
Thread bunching can be caused by incorrect threading, incorrect bobbin placement, or improper tension settings. Re-thread the machine, ensuring the thread is correctly placed in all guides and tension disks. Check bobbin winding and placement, and adjust the tension settings if necessary.
To change the needle, turn off the machine and raise the needle to its highest position. Loosen the needle clamp screw and remove the old needle. Insert the new needle with the flat side facing the back, push it up as far as it will go, and tighten the needle clamp screw securely.
If fabric is not feeding properly, check that the feed dogs are raised. Ensure the presser foot pressure is appropriate for the fabric type. Verify that the stitch length is not set too low and that there is no lint obstructing the feed dogs.
To adjust the tension, locate the tension dial on the front of the machine. For tighter tension, turn the dial to a higher number; for looser tension, turn it to a lower number. Test on a scrap piece of fabric to ensure optimal stitch quality.
Unusual noises can indicate the need for cleaning or oiling. Ensure there are no loose screws or parts. Remove any lint or thread debris from the bobbin area and feed dogs. If the noise persists, consult a professional technician.
To sew a buttonhole, attach the buttonhole foot and select the buttonhole stitch. Place the button in the buttonhole foot to set the size. Position the fabric under the foot, lower the buttonhole lever, and start sewing. The machine will automatically sew the buttonhole.
Ensure the bobbin is correctly placed on the bobbin winder spindle and that the thread is threaded through the bobbin winding guide. Press the bobbin winder to the right to engage, and make sure the thread end is held securely when starting. If issues persist, check for compatibility of the bobbin.
