Janome Magnolia 7318 Instruction Book

To thread the Janome Magnolia 7318, raise the presser foot lifter, turn the handwheel toward you to raise the take-up lever, and follow the threading path marked on the machine, making sure the thread is seated in the tension discs. Finally, thread the needle from front to back.
If stitches are bunching, check that the machine is threaded correctly, rethread the machine, and ensure the bobbin is wound smoothly. Adjust the tension dial if necessary, and use the correct needle and thread for your fabric.
To maintain your machine, regularly clean the lint from the bobbin area and feed dogs using a small brush. Oil the machine as per the manual's instructions, and have it serviced by a professional annually.
For lightweight fabrics, use size 9/70 to 11/75 needles. For medium weight fabrics, use size 12/80 to 14/90. For heavy fabrics, use size 16/100 or larger. Always match the needle type to the fabric type.
Adjust the tension by turning the tension dial located on the front of the machine. Increase tension for tighter stitches and decrease for looser stitches. Test on a scrap fabric to achieve the desired stitch quality.
Needle breakage can occur if the needle is bent, incorrectly inserted, or if the fabric is too thick for the needle size. Ensure the needle is the right type and size for your project and replace it if it's damaged.
To change the presser foot, raise the presser foot lever, press the lever at the back of the foot holder to release the current foot, position the new foot under the holder, and lower the presser foot lever to secure it.
Ensure the bobbin is inserted correctly and that the needle is threaded properly. Check for any thread tangles or lint in the bobbin area and clean it if necessary. Re-thread both the upper thread and bobbin.
Select the buttonhole stitch on the stitch selector, attach the buttonhole foot, and mark the buttonhole placement on your fabric. Lower the presser foot and sew, following the machine's automatic buttonhole process.
The Janome Magnolia 7318 uses class 15 plastic bobbins. Ensure you use the correct bobbin type to avoid tension issues and potential damage to the machine.
