To thread the Janome Continental M7 Professional, start by placing the spool on the spool pin. Follow the threading path indicated on the machine, ensuring the thread passes through the tension discs and the take-up lever. Finish by threading the needle using the built-in needle threader.
If the machine is skipping stitches, ensure that the needle is correctly inserted and not bent. Check that the thread is properly seated in the tension discs and that the correct thread and needle are being used for the fabric. Re-thread the machine if necessary.
Regularly clean the lint buildup from the bobbin area and feed dogs using the brush provided. Oil the machine as recommended in the manual, using only sewing machine oil. Have the machine serviced by a professional annually to ensure optimal performance.
If the fabric is not feeding properly, check that the feed dogs are engaged. Adjust the presser foot pressure if needed and ensure that the fabric is positioned correctly under the presser foot before starting to sew.
To adjust the tension, use the tension dial located on the front of the machine. Lower numbers decrease tension, while higher numbers increase it. Adjust the tension based on the fabric and thread type being used to achieve balanced stitches.
If the machine does not turn on, ensure that it is plugged into a working power outlet. Check that the power switch is turned on and inspect the power cord for any damage. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or contact customer support.
Ensure the bobbin is correctly placed on the bobbin winder spindle and that the thread is threaded through the bobbin winding guide. Check that the bobbin winder is engaged and the machine is set to bobbin winding mode.
For sewing denim, it is recommended to use a size 90/14 or 100/16 denim needle. Ensure that the needle is sharp and replace it regularly to prevent skipped stitches or fabric damage.
To select decorative stitches, use the touch screen interface to navigate the stitch options. Choose the desired stitch and adjust the length and width settings as needed. Test on a scrap piece of fabric before sewing on your project.
Frequent needle breaks can be caused by using the wrong type of needle, a bent needle, or incorrect threading. Ensure the needle is appropriate for the fabric, properly installed, and that the machine is threaded correctly.
