To thread the Janome 625E Sewist, start by raising the presser foot and turning the handwheel towards you to raise the needle to its highest position. Place the spool of thread on the spool pin and guide the thread through the upper thread guide. Follow the threading path down the right channel, around the tension disc, up the left channel, through the take-up lever, and finally thread the needle from front to back.
If you're experiencing bobbin tension issues, first ensure the bobbin is wound correctly and inserted properly into the bobbin case. Clean the bobbin area to remove lint or thread debris. Adjust the bobbin tension screw slightly if necessary. Make sure to use compatible bobbin thread and needle sizes for your fabric.
Regular maintenance for the Janome 625E includes cleaning the bobbin case and feed dogs, oiling the machine as per the user manual, and changing the needle regularly. It's also important to keep the machine covered when not in use to prevent dust accumulation. Consider professional servicing annually for optimal performance.
To adjust stitch length, use the stitch length dial on the front of the machine. For stitch width, use the stitch width dial or selector. Ensure the machine is properly set for the type of fabric and stitch you are using to achieve the best results.
Skipped stitches can be caused by a bent or dull needle, incorrect needle size for the fabric, or improper threading. Replace the needle, re-thread the machine, and ensure you're using the correct needle and thread for your fabric. Also, check the tension settings.
Ensure the presser foot pressure is set correctly and the feed dogs are in the up position. Clean the feed dog area to remove any lint or debris. Check that the stitch length is appropriate for the fabric type.
To prevent thread breakage, ensure the machine is threaded correctly and the tension is set properly. Use high-quality thread and check that the needle is appropriate for the thread and fabric. Clean the tension discs and ensure the needle is not bent or dull.
Turn off and unplug the machine. Remove the needle plate and bobbin case. Use a small brush to clean out lint and dust. Apply a drop of sewing machine oil to the hook race as indicated in the user manual. Reassemble the machine and perform a test stitch on scrap fabric.
The Janome 625E Sewist can perform a variety of stitches including straight, zigzag, stretch, blind hem, decorative, and buttonhole stitches. Consult the stitch chart on the machine for available stitch types and their settings.
To replace the needle, turn off the machine and raise the needle to its highest position. Loosen the needle clamp screw and remove the old needle. Insert a new needle with the flat side facing the back, push it up into the clamp as far as it will go, and tighten the needle clamp screw securely.
