To thread the Janome 4623LE Plus, start by raising the presser foot and turning off the machine. Place the spool on the spool pin and guide the thread through the thread guide, then down through the tension discs. Continue threading through the take-up lever and finally through the needle. Make sure to follow the threading path indicated on the machine.
First, check that the machine is threaded correctly and that the bobbin is inserted properly. Adjust the tension dial, usually located on the front, to see if the issue resolves. If tension problems persist, try changing the needle and the thread, and ensure the machine is clean and free of lint.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the bobbin area and feed dogs with a brush or vacuum attachment to remove lint and dust. Oil the machine according to the manufacturer's instructions, and ensure all screws and parts are tightened. It's also recommended to have the machine serviced by a professional annually.
Turn off the machine and raise the needle to its highest position. Loosen the needle clamp screw and remove the old needle. Insert a new needle with the flat side facing the back, push it up as far as it will go, and tighten the needle clamp screw securely.
Ensure the machine is plugged in and the power switch is turned on. Check if the foot pedal is connected properly. If the machine still won't start, inspect the power cord for any damage and consider consulting a professional technician.
To select different stitches, turn the stitch selector dial located on the front of the machine. Align the desired stitch number with the indicator line. Ensure that the presser foot and needle are appropriate for the selected stitch.
Skipping stitches can be caused by using the wrong type or size of needle or thread. Ensure the needle is correctly inserted and not bent. Also, check the tension settings and rethread the machine if necessary.
Remove the needle plate by unscrewing it, then use a small brush to clean any lint or debris from the feed dogs. Regular cleaning helps to maintain smooth fabric feeding and prevents stitches from bunching.
Use standard Janome plastic bobbins that are compatible with the 4623LE Plus model. Avoid using metal bobbins or those that are not recommended by the manufacturer to ensure proper function and prevent damage.
Locate the presser foot pressure adjustment dial on the top of the machine. Turn the dial to increase or decrease the pressure depending on the fabric thickness. Proper pressure helps to feed the fabric smoothly.
