To ignite the stove, ensure the air vents are fully open, place kindling and firelighters on the grate, ignite them, and gradually add larger logs once the kindling is burning well.
Check if the chimney is blocked or the flue is closed. Ensure there's adequate ventilation in the room, and the air vents on the stove are open.
The stove should be cleaned regularly, ideally after each use. The chimney should be swept at least once a year, or more frequently if the stove is used heavily.
The stove is designed to burn seasoned wood logs. Ensure the wood is dry and well-seasoned to prevent excessive smoke and soot buildup.
Ensure your wood is well-seasoned, use the air controls to manage the burn rate, and regularly clean the stove and chimney to prevent blockages.
Store wood in a dry, well-ventilated area, off the ground. Ensure it is protected from rain to keep it seasoned and dry.
Dirty glass can be caused by burning wet wood or poor ventilation. Use dry, seasoned wood and ensure the airwash system is functioning properly.
Close the air vents to suffocate the fire. Do not use water to extinguish the fire as it can damage the stove.
Regularly check and clean the air vents to ensure they are free from ash and debris, allowing for proper air flow and combustion.
Burn only dry, seasoned wood and ensure the stove is operating at optimal temperatures to minimize creosote formation. Regular chimney sweeping is also essential.
