To adjust the seat height, locate the quick-release lever or bolt beneath the seat post. Open the lever or loosen the bolt, adjust the seat to your desired height, and then secure it by tightening the bolt or closing the lever. Ensure the seat is level and securely fastened before riding.
First, check if the chain is too loose or worn out. Tighten or replace it as needed. Inspect the derailleur for proper alignment and adjust it using the barrel adjuster. If problems persist, consider having a professional mechanic inspect it.
It's recommended to lubricate the chain every 100-150 miles, or more often if you ride in wet or dusty conditions. Use a suitable bicycle chain lubricant, apply it to a clean and dry chain, and wipe off excess lubricant.
Start by rinsing the bike with water to remove loose dirt. Use a mild soap or bike-specific cleaner with a sponge or brush to scrub the frame, wheels, and components. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean cloth. Avoid high-pressure water as it can damage bearings and components.
Remove the wheel, deflate the tire completely, and remove it from the rim. Check for the cause of the puncture and remove any debris. Patch or replace the inner tube, reinstall the tire, inflate it to the correct pressure, and reattach the wheel.
Check if the brake pads are worn or misaligned and replace or adjust them as needed. Ensure the brake cables are tight and not frayed. If hydraulic brakes are present, check for air in the system and bleed them if necessary.
Clean the bike thoroughly, lubricate the chain, and inflate the tires to the recommended pressure. Store it in a dry, indoor location, preferably hung or in a stand to avoid tire deformation. Consider removing the battery if it's an electric model and storing it at room temperature.
Loosen the bolts on the stem that secure the handlebars. Align the handlebars to be perpendicular to the front wheel, then retighten the bolts evenly to ensure they are secure. Ensure the handlebars are at a comfortable angle for riding.
Check if the pedals, cranks, or bottom bracket are loose and tighten them if necessary. Inspect the chain for stiffness or damage and lubricate or replace as needed. Ensure that the derailleur and cassette are properly aligned and free of debris.
Use a tire pressure gauge to measure the pressure at the valve stem. Compare the reading to the recommended pressure range printed on the tire sidewall. Inflate or deflate the tire as needed to reach the desired pressure.
