To set the suspension, first determine your sag by sitting on the bike in full gear. Adjust the air pressure in the shock to achieve 25-30% sag. Fine-tune the rebound and compression settings to match your riding style and terrain.
The recommended tire pressure varies based on rider weight and terrain, but generally, it is between 25-35 psi for optimal performance and grip.
Check the derailleur alignment and ensure that the cables are properly tensioned. Inspect the chain for wear and ensure the cassette and chainrings are clean. Adjust the barrel adjuster for precise indexing.
After a muddy ride, rinse the bike gently with water to remove mud. Clean and lubricate the chain, check the brake pads and rotors, and inspect the drivetrain for any debris.
To adjust the brakes, first align the brake calipers so they are centered over the rotor. Adjust the brake pads so they have even contact with the rotor and ensure there is no rubbing when the wheel spins.
Use a gentle bike cleaner and a soft brush to clean the frame and components. Avoid high-pressure water as it can damage bearings and seals. Dry the bike thoroughly and lubricate the chain after cleaning.
Remove the wheel and tire, then replace the broken spoke by threading it through the hub and rim. Tension the spoke and ensure the wheel is true before reassembling.
Inspect the dropper post for dirt or debris. Clean and lubricate the post as necessary. Check the cable tension and adjust as needed. If issues persist, consider servicing the internals.
It's recommended to service the suspension every 50 hours of riding or at least once a year. Regular maintenance includes inspecting seals, replacing oil, and checking for any wear or damage.
Check and tighten all bolts and components, including the bottom bracket, pedals, and seat post. Apply grease to contact points and inspect the frame and components for any signs of wear or damage.
