To start the Subaru Robin R600 Generator, ensure the fuel valve is open, set the choke to the closed position if the engine is cold, turn the engine switch to 'ON', and then pull the starter rope briskly. Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the open position.
Use SAE 10W-30 oil for general use. Ensure it meets API service category SJ or later. Check the oil level before each use to maintain optimal performance and longevity of the generator.
The generator may shut off due to low oil levels, an overloaded system, or a clogged air filter. Check and refill the oil if necessary, ensure the load does not exceed the generator's capacity, and clean or replace the air filter if it is dirty.
Perform regular maintenance every 50 hours of use or every three months, whichever comes first. This includes checking the oil level, cleaning the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, and checking for any loose or damaged components.
Check if the circuit breaker is tripped. If it is not, inspect the generator's connections and wiring for any loose or damaged components. Additionally, ensure the equipment being powered is functioning properly and not drawing excessive power.
To store the generator long-term, drain the fuel tank and carburetor, change the oil, remove the spark plug, and pour a teaspoon of oil into the cylinder. Pull the starter rope several times to distribute the oil and reinstall the spark plug. Store in a dry, dust-free location.
Place the generator on a stable, level surface, and consider using a soundproof enclosure or placing sound-absorbing materials around it. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent overheating.
Ensure the generator is not overloaded and the engine is not locked. Check for obstructions in the recoil starter assembly and ensure the engine switch is in the 'OFF' position before troubleshooting further.
It is not recommended to operate the generator in wet conditions. Use a protective cover or tent to keep it dry while ensuring proper ventilation to prevent carbon monoxide buildup.
Check the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Ensure the fuel is fresh and the air filter is clean. Additionally, inspect the fuel lines for blockages and ensure they are properly connected.
