Use a high-quality SAE 10W-30 engine oil for optimal performance. Ensure the oil meets or exceeds API service category SJ or later.
First, check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is not contaminated. Verify the battery charge and connections. Inspect the spark plug for fouling or damage. Ensure the EFI system is functioning properly by checking connectors and sensors.
Perform an oil change every 100 operating hours or annually, whichever comes first. Replace the air filter every 200 hours. Inspect and clean the fuel system every 300 hours. Regularly check the spark plug and replace it every 300 hours or as needed.
Ensure regular maintenance, including cleaning or replacing the air filter and spark plug. Use the recommended grade of oil and fuel. Avoid overloading the engine and allow it to warm up before use.
Stop the engine immediately and let it cool down. Check the cooling fins and clean any debris. Ensure the oil level is adequate. Inspect for any leaks in the cooling system and repair as necessary.
To adjust the idle speed, locate the idle speed adjustment screw on the carburetor. Turn the screw clockwise to increase the idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it. Refer to the engine's manual for the recommended idle speed settings.
Rough idling can be caused by a dirty air filter, fouled spark plug, or issues with the fuel injection system. Check for vacuum leaks and ensure the fuel is clean and not stale.
Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for a few minutes to reset the EFI system. Reconnect the terminal and start the engine to see if the issue is resolved.
Inspect the oil level and quality, air filter condition, spark plug, and fuel system. Check for any signs of leaks or wear in belts and hoses. Ensure all electrical connections are secure.
Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer. Change the oil and replace the oil filter. Remove the spark plug and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder, then turn the engine over by hand to distribute the oil. Store the engine in a dry, cool place.
