Subaru RGX3800 Parts Manual

To start the Subaru RGX3800 Generator, ensure the fuel valve is open, turn the engine switch to 'ON', set the choke lever to 'CLOSE' if the engine is cold, and pull the recoil starter handle briskly.
Perform an oil change every 50 hours of operation, clean the air filter every 25 hours, and inspect the spark plug every 100 hours. Regularly check fuel and oil levels before use.
If the generator won't start, check the fuel and oil levels, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly connected, and verify that the air filter is not clogged. Also, make sure the fuel being used is fresh and the fuel valve is open.
Use SAE 10W-30 oil for general use, which provides good protection in varying temperatures. Ensure the oil is API Service Classification SJ or higher.
Before storing, drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the exterior, and store the generator in a dry, well-ventilated area. Disconnect the battery if applicable.
Check the air filter for dirt, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and ensure the fuel is not contaminated. Also, verify that the choke is properly set after the engine warms up.
To change the oil, warm up the engine, turn it off, and place a pan under the oil drain plug. Remove the plug and drain the oil completely. Replace the plug and refill with appropriate oil.
Operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area to avoid carbon monoxide buildup. Keep it dry and do not touch it with wet hands. Ensure proper grounding and avoid overloading the generator.
Regular maintenance such as timely oil changes, air filter cleaning, and using fresh fuel can extend the generator's life. Also, avoid overloading and store it properly when not in use.
If the generator runs but doesn't produce electricity, check the circuit breaker and reset it if tripped. Inspect the outlet connections and wiring for faults. Ensure the load is not exceeding the generator's capacity.
