To load the line, first ensure the trimmer is turned off and disconnected from any power source. Remove the spool by pressing the tabs on the side. Cut two pieces of line approximately 13 feet long. Insert each line end into a hole in the spool, wind the lines evenly in the direction of the arrows, and reassemble the head.
The TrimCut 31-2 is compatible with nylon trimmer lines that are 2.4 mm to 2.7 mm in diameter. Ensure the line is suitable for the material you are trimming.
Ensure the correct line size is used and avoid hitting hard surfaces like rocks or concrete. Additionally, trim at full throttle to reduce the chance of line breakage.
This could be due to a jammed head, broken drive shaft, or a slipping clutch. Inspect for debris, check the drive shaft for damage, and ensure the clutch is engaging properly.
Detach the head and use a brush to remove grass, dirt, and debris. Wash with warm soapy water if necessary, then dry completely before reassembling.
Regularly inspect and clean the head, replace the line as needed, and lubricate moving parts with a light machine oil to ensure smooth operation.
Consult the manual for part numbers and order replacements through authorized dealers. Follow the instructions to safely replace worn components like the spool or springs.
Ensure the line is wound correctly and not tangled. Check the spool for wear and replace if necessary. Make sure the line is the correct diameter for the head.
The TrimCut 31-2 is compatible with various Stihl trimmer models. Check the compatibility list in the user manual or consult a Stihl dealer for confirmation.
Wear protective eyewear, gloves, and long pants. Ensure the work area is clear of bystanders and obstacles. Always follow the manufacturer's safety guidelines as provided in the manual.
