To assemble the Stihl SG 31, start by attaching the pump lever to the sprayer's body. Then, connect the hose to the tank outlet and attach the spray wand to the other end of the hose. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
After use, empty any remaining liquid from the tank and fill it with clean water. Pump and spray the water through the hose and nozzle to rinse out any residue. Disassemble the nozzle and clean it separately to ensure no blockages.
If the sprayer is not building pressure, check for leaks in the hose or seals. Ensure the pump is fully engaged and the O-rings are intact and lubricated. Inspect the check valve for any debris that may be causing a blockage.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the tank, hose, and nozzles after each use. Inspect and lubricate seals and O-rings periodically. Check the spray wand for any cracks or damage and replace parts as necessary.
To adjust the spray pattern, rotate the nozzle tip to change between a fine mist and a direct stream. This allows you to customize the application based on your needs.
Leaks from the pump handle are often due to worn or damaged seals. Inspect the seals for wear and replace if necessary. Ensure all connections are tight and the pump is properly lubricated.
It is not recommended to use bleach or corrosive solutions in the Stihl SG 31 as they can damage the seals and hoses. Always check the manufacturer's guidelines for compatible chemicals.
When storing the sprayer, ensure it is clean and dry. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and chemicals. Store with the pump handle in the locked position to prevent damage.
If the nozzle is clogged, remove it from the wand and soak it in warm, soapy water. Use a soft brush to gently remove any debris. Rinse thoroughly and reattach to the spray wand.
To replace seals, first disassemble the affected area (such as the pump or hose connections). Remove the old seals and clean the surfaces. Install new seals, ensuring they are seated correctly, and reassemble.
