To start the Stihl RB 800, ensure the water supply is connected and turned on. Set the engine switch to the 'on' position, move the fuel valve to the 'open' position, and set the choke lever to 'closed' if the engine is cold. Pull the starter grip slowly until resistance is felt, then pull it swiftly. Once the engine starts, move the choke lever to the 'open' position gradually.
If the engine won't start, check for sufficient fuel and ensure the fuel is fresh. Verify that the spark plug is clean and connected properly. Inspect the air filter for blockages. Make sure the choke is in the correct position for starting. If all else fails, consult the user manual or contact a Stihl service center.
Regular maintenance includes checking and replacing the engine oil as recommended, cleaning the air filter, inspecting the hoses for leaks or wear, and ensuring the spark plug is in good condition. Regularly check the water inlet and nozzle for blockages and clean them as necessary.
Stihl recommends using high-quality SAE 10W-30 engine oil for the RB 800. It is important to check the oil level before each use and replace it after the first 20 hours of operation, then every 50 hours or according to the manual.
For low pressure, ensure the water supply is adequate and hoses are not leaking. Check the nozzle for blockages and clean it if necessary. Inspect the unloader valve for proper operation. If the problem persists, the pump may need servicing.
To winterize the RB 800, drain all water from the pump and hoses. Add a pump saver antifreeze to prevent damage from freezing temperatures. Store the unit in a dry, sheltered area. Remove fuel from the tank or add a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degradation.
The spark plug should be checked and cleaned every 100 hours of operation. Replace it if there are signs of wear or damage. Use the spark plug type recommended in the user manual for best performance.
Excessive vibration can be caused by loose components or an unbalanced pump. Check all bolts and fittings for tightness. Inspect the pump for damage or wear. If the issue persists, consult a professional technician.
The Stihl RB 800 is designed for use with cold water. Using hot water can damage the pump and other components. Always refer to the user manual for the recommended operating conditions.
To clean a clogged nozzle, turn off the engine and disconnect the spray wand. Use a small pin or needle to clear any debris from the nozzle hole. Rinse the nozzle with clean water before reattaching it to ensure proper operation.
