To start the Stihl RB 220 K, first ensure the water supply is connected and turned on. Set the choke to the 'closed' position if the engine is cold. Turn the fuel valve to the 'on' position. Pull the starter grip slowly until resistance is felt, then pull rapidly to start the engine. Once the engine starts, move the choke to the 'open' position.
Check for any leaks in the hoses and connections. Ensure the water supply is adequate and the inlet screen is clean. Inspect and clean the nozzle, as a clogged nozzle can cause low pressure. If the problem persists, check the unloader valve and pump for any issues.
Regularly check the pump oil level and change it according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Inspect the pump for leaks and ensure all connections are secure. Clean the water inlet filter regularly to prevent debris from entering the pump.
Ensure the unit is not operating in direct sunlight or enclosed spaces without adequate ventilation. Do not run the pressure washer for extended periods without using the spray gun. Allow the unit to cool down during breaks and avoid running the engine unnecessarily.
Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel valve is in the 'on' position. Inspect the spark plug for fouling or damage and replace it if necessary. Make sure the choke is set correctly for the current temperature. If the engine is flooded, wait a few minutes before attempting to start it again.
Drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor of fuel. Clean the unit thoroughly and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Disconnect and store the hoses and accessories separately to prevent damage.
Check the air filter after every 25 hours of use. Clean it by removing any debris and washing with soapy water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling. Replace the air filter if it is damaged or shows signs of excessive wear.
Use high-quality engine oil that meets or exceeds the viscosity specifications outlined in the user manual. Typically, SAE 10W-30 is recommended for most operating conditions. Always check the manual for specific oil recommendations.
Adjust the pressure by changing the nozzle to one with a different spray angle. Additionally, you can adjust the unloader valve to increase or decrease the pressure as needed. Always ensure the adjustments are within the safe operating limits specified by the manufacturer.
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye protection and gloves. Do not point the spray gun at people or animals. Be cautious of the high-pressure spray's recoil and maintain a firm grip on the spray gun. Ensure the work area is clear of obstacles and hazards.
