To start the Stihl P 840, ensure the power switch is in the 'off' position, connect the water supply, and check that all connections are secure. Turn the water on, then switch the power to 'on' and press the start button.
If the Stihl P 840 does not start, check the power source, ensure the water supply is on, and inspect the hose and nozzles for clogs or leaks. Also, ensure the unit is not in thermal overload protection mode.
Regularly check and clean the nozzles, inspect hoses for wear, and ensure the water filter is clean. Store the pressure washer in a dry place and perform a full service annually.
To clean the nozzle, turn off the pressure washer, disconnect the water supply, and remove the nozzle. Use a small brush or a nozzle cleaning tool to clear any debris and rinse with clean water before reattaching.
Check for any kinks in the hose, ensure the water supply is adequate, and inspect the nozzle for blockages. Also, verify that the inlet filter is clean and not clogged.
Inspect all hose connections for tightness and check for any cracks or wear in the hoses. Replace any damaged components and ensure all seals and O-rings are intact.
Drain all water from the unit and hoses to prevent freezing damage, clean the exterior, and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using a cover for added protection.
Use only cleaning solutions specifically designed for pressure washers. Avoid using bleach or corrosive chemicals, as they can damage the unit. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for dilution and application.
Refer to the user manual for adjusting the pressure settings. Typically, you can adjust the pressure by changing the nozzle or adjusting the pressure regulator knob if available on the model.
Always wear protective gear, such as goggles and gloves. Ensure bystanders are at a safe distance, and never aim the pressure washer at people or animals. Follow all safety guidelines in the user manual.
