The chain should be taut against the guide bar, but you should be able to pull it around by hand. Adjust the tension using the side-mounted tensioning system.
Remove the sprocket cover and clean the air filter with a brush or replace it if damaged. Ensure it's dry before reassembling.
Use high-quality bar and chain oil to ensure optimal lubrication and performance. Avoid using used or old motor oil.
Check the power source, ensure the extension cord is properly connected, and inspect for any visible damage to the cord or saw. If the problem persists, consult a professional.
Sharpen the chain every time you refuel or notice a decrease in cutting efficiency. Use a round file and follow the manufacturer's sharpening angles.
Clean the saw, drain the oil, and store it in a dry, secure place. Cover the bar and chain with a protective cover.
Turn off the saw, remove the sprocket cover, release the chain tension, and carefully remove the old chain. Install the new chain, ensuring it fits the guide bar correctly, then adjust the tension.
Wear protective gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and chainsaw chaps or pants to ensure safety while operating the chainsaw.
It is not recommended to use the Stihl MSE 250 C in wet conditions due to the risk of electric shock and potential damage to the saw.
Regularly clean the guide bar groove, check for wear, and flip the bar periodically to ensure even wear. Replace if it is damaged or excessively worn.
