The Stihl MS 441 C-MQ requires a fuel mixture of 50:1, which is 50 parts gasoline to 1 part 2-stroke engine oil.
A basic maintenance check involves cleaning the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, checking the chain tension, and ensuring proper lubrication of the bar and chain.
Difficulty starting can be due to a clogged air filter, a fouled spark plug, or old fuel. Ensure all these components are clean and in good condition.
Ensure the chain is sharp and properly tensioned. Check if the guide bar is worn or damaged, and inspect the depth gauges on the chain to ensure they are set correctly.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and wash it in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and let it dry completely before reinstalling.
Empty the fuel tank, clean the chainsaw thoroughly, and store it in a dry, dust-free environment. It is also recommended to slightly loosen the chain tension to prevent stress on the components.
To adjust the chain tension, loosen the bar nuts, turn the tensioning screw until the chain fits snugly against the bar, and then tighten the bar nuts securely.
Check the anti-vibration mounts for wear or damage, ensure the chain is sharp and properly tensioned, and verify that the guide bar is not bent.
It is recommended to replace the spark plug every 100 operating hours or once per season, whichever comes first.
It is best to use high-quality bar and chain oil specifically designed for chainsaws to ensure optimal performance and lubrication.
