To start the Stihl MS 200, set the chain brake, move the master control lever to the starting position, pull the starter rope until the engine fires, then move the lever to the run position and pull again until the engine starts.
The Stihl MS 200 requires a 50:1 fuel mixture, which is 50 parts gasoline to 1 part 2-stroke engine oil.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is clean and functional, inspect the air filter for blockages, and verify that the carburetor is set correctly.
Regularly clean the air filter, check the chain tension, sharpen the chain, inspect the spark plug, and clean the cooling fins. Follow the user manual for specific intervals.
Locate the carburetor adjustment screws (L, H, and LA). Use a screwdriver to adjust them according to the manual's specifications, ensuring optimal performance.
Stalling can be caused by a clogged air filter, incorrect carburetor settings, or old fuel. Check and clean or replace these components as necessary.
Loosen the chain tensioner, remove the bar nuts, take off the chain cover, remove the old chain, place the new chain onto the bar, replace the cover, and tighten the chain tensioner.
Always wear protective gear, ensure the chain brake is engaged when not cutting, keep both hands on the saw, and be aware of your surroundings and potential kickback zones.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
Check for clogged cooling fins or air vents, ensure the chain is properly lubricated, and verify that the fuel mixture is correct. Address any issues found.
