To start the Stihl MS 151 TC-E, ensure the chain brake is engaged. Set the master control lever to the cold start position. Pull the starter grip until the engine fires briefly, then move the control to the warm start position and pull again until the engine starts.
Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is fresh. Verify that the spark plug is clean and functional. Make sure the air filter is not clogged. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or contact a professional technician.
Sharpen the chain every time you refuel the chainsaw for optimal performance. If you notice reduced cutting efficiency, it may need sharpening sooner.
Use a 50:1 ratio of gasoline to 2-stroke engine oil. Ensure the gasoline is unleaded and has an octane rating of at least 89.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling. Replace if it is damaged or excessively dirty.
Clean the chainsaw thoroughly and drain the fuel tank. Store it in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight. Ensure it is kept out of reach of children and away from any ignition sources.
Check the fuel filter and air filter for blockages. Ensure the carburetor is adjusted correctly. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage. If issues continue, consult a professional for further diagnosis.
This could be due to a lack of lubrication. Check the oil level and ensure the oil passages are clear. Also, confirm the chain tension is properly adjusted.
Turn off the chainsaw and disconnect the spark plug. Engage the chain brake and remove the sprocket cover. Carefully remove the old chain and place the new chain on the bar, ensuring it fits into the sprocket. Reattach the sprocket cover and adjust the chain tension before use.
Regularly clean the air filter, check and replace the spark plug if necessary, inspect the chain for sharpness and tension, and ensure the fuel and oil levels are adequate. Regular professional servicing is recommended for optimal performance.
