The correct fuel mix ratio for the Stihl MS 150 C is 50:1, which means 50 parts gasoline to 1 part high-quality 2-stroke engine oil.
To start the Stihl MS 150 C, switch the Master Control Lever to the starting position, pull the starter handle until you hear the engine attempting to fire, then switch to the normal run position and pull the starter handle again until the engine starts.
Regular maintenance includes checking the chain tension and sharpness before each use, cleaning the air filter every 5 hours of operation, and having a professional inspect the machine annually.
If the chainsaw won't start, check the fuel level and quality, inspect the spark plug for fouling, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify that the stop switch is not engaged.
Use high-quality bar and chain oil specifically designed for chainsaws. Stihl recommends using their own brand for optimal performance.
To adjust the chain tension, turn off the chainsaw and use the combination wrench to loosen the bar nuts slightly. Turn the tensioning screw until the chain fits snugly against the underside of the guide bar, then retighten the bar nuts.
Always wear protective gear including gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection. Ensure the area is clear of bystanders, particularly children and pets, before starting the chainsaw.
Overheating may be due to a clogged air filter or inadequate lubrication. Clean or replace the air filter and ensure that the bar and chain are receiving adequate oil.
To clean the air filter, remove the top cover, take out the filter, and gently clean it with warm, soapy water. Let it dry completely before reinstalling.
The Stihl MS 150 C is designed for light to medium-duty tasks. It is not recommended for felling large trees; use a more powerful model for such tasks.
