To start the Stihl KM 56 R KM 56 RC-E, first ensure the choke lever is set to 'cold start' if the engine is cold. Press the fuel pump bulb at least five times. Pull the starter rope until you hear the engine attempt to start. Move the choke to 'run' and continue pulling until the engine starts.
If the engine won't start, check if there's fuel in the tank and ensure it's fresh. Verify the spark plug is clean and properly connected. Inspect the air filter for clogs and clean if necessary. Ensure the choke is set correctly for the starting condition.
Inspect the air filter after every 25 hours of use. Clean it by removing dust and debris. Replace the air filter if it is heavily soiled or damaged to ensure optimal engine performance.
The recommended fuel mixture for the Stihl KM 56 R KM 56 RC-E is 50:1, which means 50 parts gasoline to 1 part two-stroke engine oil. Always use high-quality oil and unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 89.
Regularly inspect the cutting attachment for wear or damage. Clean it after each use to prevent buildup of debris. Sharpen or replace the cutting blades as necessary to ensure efficient cutting.
If the engine is running rough, check the air filter and spark plug for cleanliness and proper installation. Ensure the fuel mixture is correct and fresh. Adjust the carburetor settings if necessary according to the user manual.
To store the tool for the off-season, empty the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the unit thoroughly, inspect for any damage, and store it in a dry, secure location. Consider removing the spark plug and adding a few drops of oil into the cylinder to prevent rust.
To replace the spark plug, first ensure the engine is cool. Disconnect the spark plug boot, then use a spark plug wrench to remove the old spark plug. Install the new spark plug by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten it with the wrench. Reconnect the spark plug boot.
Always wear protective gear, including gloves, eye protection, and ear protection. Ensure the working area is clear of obstacles and bystanders. Follow all safety instructions in the user manual and never use the tool if it is damaged or improperly maintained.
If the engine overheats, stop using the tool immediately. Check for blockages in the air intake or exhaust. Ensure the cooling fins are clean and not obstructed. Verify the correct fuel mixture is used and inspect for any mechanical issues. Allow the engine to cool before restarting.
