To start the Stihl HSA 66, ensure the battery is fully charged and securely inserted. Then, press the lockout button on the side of the handle and squeeze the trigger switch.
The Stihl HSA 66 uses a 36V Lithium-Ion battery from the Stihl AP series.
After use, remove the battery and use a soft brush to remove debris. Then, apply a resin solvent or blade cleaner to a cloth and wipe the blades to prevent buildup and rust.
Regularly check and clean the blades, ensure the battery is charged and stored properly, and inspect the machine for any signs of wear or damage before each use.
To extend battery life, store the battery in a cool, dry place, avoid completely discharging it, and charge it fully before long periods of storage.
Check if the battery is charged and inserted correctly. Inspect the contacts for corrosion or dirt, and ensure the lockout button and trigger switch are functioning properly.
The Stihl HSA 66 is designed for trimming hedges and branches up to 23mm in diameter. For thicker branches, consider using a saw or a more powerful tool.
Remove the battery and store it separately. Clean the trimmer, cover the blades, and store in a dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
Inspect the blades for dullness or damage and sharpen them if necessary. Regularly clean the blades and keep them lubricated to maintain cutting efficiency.
Sharpen the blades at least once a season or more frequently if you notice a decrease in cutting performance. Always use the correct sharpening tools and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
