To start the Stihl FS 94 R, first ensure the trimmer is on a flat surface. Set the throttle trigger lock to the starting position, engage the choke, and pull the starter rope until the engine fires. Once it fires, move the choke to the run position and pull the rope again if necessary.
The Stihl FS 94 R requires a mix of gasoline and 2-stroke engine oil at a 50:1 ratio. Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 89 and high-quality 2-stroke oil.
To replace the trimmer line, turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire. Remove the trimmer head cover, take out any remaining line, and wind new line onto the spool following the directional arrows. Reattach the cover and ensure it is secure.
Power loss can be due to several factors such as a dirty air filter, clogged fuel filter, or an improper fuel mixture. Check and clean or replace the air filter, ensure the fuel is fresh and properly mixed, and inspect the fuel filter for blockage.
Regular maintenance includes checking and cleaning the air filter, inspecting the spark plug and replacing if necessary, checking fuel lines for leaks, and cleaning the trimmer head. Additionally, ensure all screws and nuts are tight.
Adjusting the carburetor should be done carefully. Locate the idle speed screw and the low and high-speed adjustment screws. Turn the idle screw to adjust the engine's idle speed. Adjust the low and high-speed screws to fine-tune the engine performance as per the manual instructions.
If your FS 94 R won't start, check the fuel for freshness and proper mix. Inspect the spark plug for wear or fouling, and replace if necessary. Ensure the air filter is clean and that the choke is properly set.
To clean the air filter, remove the filter cover and take out the filter. Wash it with warm, soapy water, rinse, and let it dry completely. Reinstall the filter and cover securely before using the trimmer.
While ethanol-blended fuels up to 10% can be used, it is recommended to use non-ethanol fuel to prevent potential damage and ensure optimal performance.
For winter storage, empty the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor. Clean the trimmer and inspect it for any damage. Store it in a dry, dust-free place away from direct sunlight.
