To start the Stihl FS 94, set the choke lever to the cold start position, press the fuel pump bulb at least five times, and pull the starter cord until the engine fires. Then, move the choke lever to the run position and pull the starter cord again to start the engine.
Use a fuel mix of unleaded gasoline and high-quality 2-stroke engine oil at a ratio of 50:1. Ensure the gasoline has a minimum octane rating of 89.
Check for fuel in the tank, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, verify that the air filter is clean, and ensure the on/off switch is in the 'on' position. Also, inspect the fuel line for any leaks or damage.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning or replacing the air filter, checking and replacing the spark plug annually, inspecting the fuel filter, and checking the cutting attachment for wear and damage.
Adjust the carburetor using a flat-head screwdriver, turning the 'L' screw for low-speed adjustments and the 'H' screw for high-speed adjustments. It is recommended to follow the specific adjustments as per the user manual or have it adjusted by a professional.
Ensure that the cooling air vents are not blocked, the engine is not running at too high a speed, and that the fuel mixture is correct. If the problem persists, consult a professional technician.
To replace the line, remove the trimmer head cap, take out the spool, insert the new line into the spool, wind it tightly in the correct direction, and reattach the cap securely.
A rough-running engine can be caused by a dirty air filter, old fuel, or a clogged fuel filter. Check these components and replace or clean them as needed.
Wear protective gear such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection. Ensure bystanders are at a safe distance, and follow all operating instructions provided in the user manual.
Drain the fuel tank, run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor, clean the machine thoroughly, and store it in a dry, dust-free environment. Lubricate any metal parts to prevent rust.
