To start the Stihl FS 56, ensure the switch is in the start position, press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible, set the choke to the closed position, pull the starter cord until the engine fires, then move the choke to the open position and pull again to start.
The recommended fuel mixture for the Stihl FS 56 is 50:1, which means 50 parts gasoline to 1 part 2-stroke engine oil. Always use fresh fuel and high-quality oil.
Check the fuel for proper mixture, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, inspect the air filter for blockages, and make sure the carburetor is clean. Adjust settings as necessary.
It is recommended to replace the spark plug every season or after 100 hours of operation, whichever comes first, to ensure optimal performance.
Use a nylon trimmer line with a diameter of 2.0mm to 2.4mm. Check your trimmer head specifications for the exact requirements.
To replace the line, remove the trimmer head cover, take out the spool, wind new line onto the spool following the direction indicated, and reassemble the head.
Regularly inspect the air filter for dirt and damage. Clean it with warm soapy water, rinse, and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling. Replace if it is damaged or excessively dirty.
Regular maintenance such as cleaning the air filter, using fresh fuel, replacing the spark plug, and keeping the trimmer line at the correct length can improve performance.
This could be due to a clogged air filter, incorrect fuel mixture, dirty spark plug, or carburetor issues. Perform a thorough check and clean as needed.
Drain the fuel tank, run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor, clean the machine, and store it in a dry place. Consider adding a fuel stabilizer if storing with fuel.
