To start the Stihl FS 130, first ensure the choke is engaged. Press the primer bulb several times until it is full of fuel. Place the trimmer on the ground, engage the throttle lock, and pull the starter cord until the engine fires. Once it starts, disengage the choke.
Use a mixture of unleaded gasoline and high-quality 2-cycle engine oil at a ratio of 50:1. Ensure the gasoline does not contain more than 10% ethanol to avoid engine damage.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned after every 10 hours of operation. If you operate in dusty conditions, inspect it more frequently and clean as necessary.
If the FS 130 won't start, check for fuel supply, inspect the spark plug for fouling or damage, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify that the choke is set correctly. If these steps do not resolve the issue, consult a professional technician.
To replace the trimmer line, turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire. Remove the trimmer head, take out the spool, and wind new line onto the spool following the arrows. Reassemble the trimmer head and reconnect the spark plug wire.
The correct idle speed for the Stihl FS 130 is approximately 2,800 RPM. If the engine idles erratically, adjust the idle speed screw on the carburetor.
Regularly inspect the cutting blade for wear and damage. Sharpen the blade as needed using a flat file, ensuring to maintain the original angle. Replace the blade if it becomes cracked or excessively worn.
If the FS 130 vibrates excessively, check for loose or damaged parts. Inspect the cutting attachment and mounting components. Tighten any loose screws and replace any damaged parts to reduce vibration.
To improve fuel efficiency, regularly maintain your trimmer by cleaning or replacing the air filter, using fresh fuel, and keeping the spark plug clean. Additionally, operate the trimmer at the recommended throttle settings.
The spark plug should be inspected and cleaned every 25 hours of use and replaced every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Use the manufacturer's recommended spark plug type for optimal performance.
