To start the Stihl BR 45, ensure that the fuel tank is filled, set the choke to the closed position, engage the throttle trigger lock, pull the starter rope until the engine fires, and then set the choke to open.
It is recommended to inspect and clean the air filter after every 10 hours of use, check the spark plug every 25 hours, and replace it annually. Also, ensure regular checks of fuel lines and muffler.
Check if the fuel tank is filled with fresh fuel, inspect the spark plug for fouling, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify that the choke is set correctly.
Use a mixture of unleaded gasoline and high-quality 2-cycle engine oil at a 50:1 ratio for optimal performance.
Ensure that all screws and fasteners are tightened properly, and check for any damage or wear on the anti-vibration mounts.
Check the fuel mixture to ensure the correct ratio, inspect the air filter for clogs, and examine the muffler for any blockages.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, wash it with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, let it dry, and then reinstall it.
Check the air filter for dirt or damage, verify that the fuel mixture is correct, and ensure that the spark arrestor is clean and free of deposits.
Regular checks include inspecting the fuel system for leaks, ensuring the air filter is clean, checking all bolts and screws for tightness, and verifying the state of the spark plug.
Drain the fuel tank, run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor, clean the exterior, and store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
