To start the Stihl BR 350/BR 430, set the throttle position to 'Start', ensure the fuel valve is open, press the primer bulb until fuel is visible, set the choke to 'Cold Start', pull the starter rope until the engine starts, and then move the choke to 'Run'.
The recommended fuel mix for the Stihl BR 350/BR 430 is a 50:1 ratio of gasoline to Stihl 2-cycle engine oil. Use fresh, high-quality gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 89.
To clean the air filter, remove the cover, take out the filter, and wash it with warm soapy water. Allow it to dry completely before replacing. Alternatively, replace it if it's too dirty or damaged.
If the blower won't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, inspect the air filter, and verify that the choke and throttle settings are correct. If issues persist, contact a service professional.
Perform routine maintenance every 10 hours of operation, including checking the air filter, fuel system, and spark plug. Conduct comprehensive maintenance annually or every 100 hours, whichever comes first.
Wear protective gear such as goggles, ear protection, and gloves. Ensure the area is clear of debris. Avoid using the blower in enclosed spaces to prevent inhalation of exhaust fumes.
To adjust the carburetor, locate the adjustment screws marked 'H', 'L', and 'LA'. Use a screwdriver to adjust these screws to fine-tune the engine's performance. Refer to the manual for specific settings.
A loss of power can be caused by a clogged air filter, dirty spark plug, or issues with the fuel system. Check and clean these components, and ensure the fuel mixture is correct.
To store the blower, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the blower thoroughly and store it in a dry, secure location away from direct sunlight.
The Stihl BR 350/BR 430 uses an NGK CMR6H spark plug. Ensure it is properly gapped and replace it annually or as needed.
