Stihl BR 200 Instruction Manual

To start the Stihl BR 200 blower, set the choke lever to the closed position, press the fuel pump primer several times until fuel is visible, set the throttle to the start position, pull the starter cord until the engine fires, and then move the choke to the open position.
The Stihl BR 200 requires a fuel mixture of 50:1, which means 50 parts gasoline to 1 part two-stroke engine oil. Use high-quality 89 octane unleaded gasoline and STIHL two-stroke engine oil.
To clean or replace the air filter, first remove the air filter cover by loosening the screws. Take out the air filter and inspect it. If it's dirty, clean it with warm soapy water and let it dry completely. If it's damaged, replace it with a new one. Reinstall the filter and secure the cover.
Power loss can occur due to a clogged air filter, dirty fuel filter, or a fouled spark plug. Check and clean the air filter, replace the fuel filter if needed, and inspect the spark plug, replacing it if it's worn or dirty.
Regular maintenance should be performed every 10 hours of operation or every season. This includes checking and cleaning the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, and checking the fuel system for leaks.
If your blower won't start, check for fuel issues, ensure the spark plug is functioning, and verify that the air filter is clean. Additionally, make sure the start/stop switch is in the correct position and that the carburetor is not clogged.
Prevent overheating by ensuring the air intake and cooling fins are clean and free of debris. Avoid running the blower at full throttle for extended periods and ensure proper fuel mixture is used.
Stihl recommends using gasoline with no more than 10% ethanol content. Higher ethanol content can cause engine damage and operational issues. Use fresh, high-quality gasoline to ensure optimal performance.
To store the blower for winter, empty the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the blower, check and clean the air filter, and remove the spark plug, adding a few drops of oil into the cylinder. Pull the starter rope several times to distribute the oil, then replace the spark plug. Store in a dry, dust-free location.
Use STIHL HP Ultra 2-Cycle Engine Oil or another high-quality two-stroke oil that meets the requirements of JASO-FD or ISO-L-EGD standards. This ensures proper lubrication and performance.
