Ensure the blower is on a flat surface, set the choke to the closed position, press the fuel pump bulb several times, set the throttle trigger, and pull the starter rope until the engine fires. Then, open the choke and continue pulling until the engine starts.
Use a 50:1 ratio of unleaded gasoline to two-stroke engine oil. Ensure the oil is specifically designed for air-cooled engines.
Check and clean the air filter after every 10 hours of operation or more frequently if used in dusty conditions. Replace if it shows signs of wear or damage.
First, ensure there is fresh fuel in the tank. Check the spark plug for fouling and clean or replace if necessary. Verify that the air filter is clean and the choke is in the correct position.
Inspect the spark plug every 25 hours of use. Clean with a wire brush and check the electrode gap, adjusting to the manufacturer's specifications if necessary. Replace if worn or damaged.
Drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor. Clean the unit thoroughly and store it in a dry, sheltered place. Remove the spark plug and add a few drops of oil to the cylinder, then pull the starter rope to distribute the oil.
Ensure the muffler is in good condition and not blocked. Using ear protection can also help reduce perceived noise levels during operation.
Check for loose screws or bolts and tighten them. Inspect the fan and housing for damage or debris. If the problem persists, consult a professional service technician.
Empty the fuel tank and pull the fuel line from the tank. Remove the old filter from the line and replace it with a new Stihl-approved filter. Reattach the fuel line and fill the tank with fresh fuel.
It's best to avoid using the blower in heavy rain or wet conditions to prevent water damage to the engine and electrical components. Always ensure the unit is dry before starting.
