To install the Stihl AutoCut C 4-2, first ensure the trimmer is turned off and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the current trimmer head by unscrewing it from the shaft. Align the AutoCut C 4-2 with the shaft and screw it on until it's secure. Reconnect the spark plug before use.
To load line, cut two pieces of nylon line to the recommended length. Feed each piece into the eyelets on the trimmer head and wind them evenly onto the spool in the direction indicated. Close the cover and ensure the line is secure before use.
To prevent jamming, always use the correct line size and avoid overloading the spool. Regularly clean the trimmer head to prevent debris buildup, and ensure the line is wound evenly and not too tightly.
If the line is not feeding, check for tangles or jams in the spool. Ensure the line is wound correctly and the eyelets are clear. If the problem persists, inspect the bump knob for wear and replace it if necessary.
Regularly inspect the trimmer head for wear and damage. Clean the spool and housing to remove debris. Replace worn or damaged parts promptly and ensure the line is always loaded correctly.
To replace the bump knob, remove the spool cover by pressing the release tabs. Pull out the spool and unscrew the bump knob. Install the new bump knob and reassemble the spool and cover. Ensure everything is securely in place before use.
The Stihl AutoCut C 4-2 is designed for line sizes ranging from 2.0 mm to 2.4 mm. Always refer to your trimmer's manual for the recommended line size to ensure optimal performance.
The AutoCut C 4-2 is compatible with many Stihl trimmers, but not all. Check your trimmer's manual or contact a Stihl dealer to confirm compatibility before installation.
To clean the trimmer head, remove the spool and wash the parts with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry before reassembling. Regular cleaning prevents buildup and ensures smooth operation.
If the trimmer head is damaged, stop using it immediately to prevent further damage or injury. Replace the damaged parts or the entire head as necessary, following the manufacturer's guidelines.
