To install the Stihl AutoCut 30-2, first ensure the trimmer is off and the spark plug is disconnected. Remove the old head if necessary, then align the new head with the drive shaft, and secure it by turning it clockwise until tightly fastened.
The Stihl AutoCut 30-2 is compatible with nylon trimmer line ranging from 2.4mm to 2.7mm in diameter. Using the correct line size ensures optimal performance and reduces the risk of damage.
If the line does not advance, first ensure it is wound correctly and not tangled. Check for debris obstructing the line path. If necessary, disassemble the head, clean it, and reassemble with fresh line.
To wind new line, cut two equal lengths of line. Insert each end into the designated holes on the spool, then wind both lines evenly in the direction of the arrows on the spool, keeping them taut.
Replace the line when it becomes too short to advance or when it breaks frequently. Regular inspection and replacement will ensure efficient cutting performance.
Routinely clean the trimmer head to remove debris and inspect for wear or damage. Lubricate moving parts as needed, and replace the spool or line when worn.
To prevent line welding, avoid storing the trimmer in direct sunlight and use high-quality line. Additionally, ensure the line is wound tightly and evenly on the spool.
The AutoCut 30-2 is compatible with many Stihl trimmers, but always check your trimmer’s manual or consult with a Stihl dealer to ensure compatibility.
Frequent line breakage can be due to using the wrong line size, worn-out components, or hitting hard surfaces. Ensure you're using the correct line and adjust your trimming technique to avoid obstacles.
To remove the spool, press the tabs on the side of the head and pull the spool out. Clean any debris, then reassemble by aligning the spool with the housing and snapping it back into place.
