To install the AutoCut 25-2, first ensure the trimmer is off and unplugged. Remove the spool cap by pressing in the tabs on the sides. Align the trimmer head with the drive shaft and turn it clockwise until it locks into place.
The Stihl AutoCut 25-2 is designed to work with nylon trimmer lines of 2.0 mm to 2.4 mm in diameter. Always use genuine Stihl replacement lines for optimal performance.
To replace the line, remove the spool from the head. Cut two equal lengths of line, then insert each end into the holes on the spool and wind the line evenly in the direction indicated. Reinstall the spool and cap.
Jamming may occur if the line is wound unevenly or if debris is caught in the head. Ensure the line is wound tightly and evenly, and clean the head regularly to prevent debris buildup.
To extend the life of your trimmer head, regularly inspect and clean it after use. Avoid striking hard surfaces and always use the recommended line type and size.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the head after each use, checking for wear on moving parts, and replacing the line as needed. Lubricate the moving parts if necessary.
If the line won't advance, check if the line is too short or tangled inside the head. Ensure the spool is properly seated, and that the cap is secure. Also, inspect for any damage to the spool or head.
The AutoCut 25-2 is compatible with a variety of Stihl trimmers, but it's important to check your trimmer's manual or consult with Stihl support to ensure compatibility.
Excessive vibration could be due to an imbalanced spool or debris caught inside. Remove the head, clean it thoroughly, and ensure the line is wound evenly. Replace any damaged parts if necessary.
Store the AutoCut 25-2 in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Ensure it is clean and free from debris before storage, and preferably detach it from the trimmer to prevent damage.
