To start the Stihl 019 T, ensure the chain brake is engaged, set the control lever to the choke position, pull the starter rope until the engine fires, then move the control lever to the run position and pull the starter rope again until the engine starts.
The recommended fuel mix ratio for the Stihl 019 T is 50:1, using high-quality 2-stroke engine oil and fresh unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 89.
To clean the air filter, remove the top cover of the chainsaw, take out the air filter, and wash it with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly, let it dry completely, and reinstall it before use.
If the chainsaw is not cutting properly, check the chain for dullness or damage. Sharpen or replace the chain as necessary. Also, ensure the chain tension is correctly adjusted and the bar is not worn out.
It is recommended to inspect the spark plug every 25 hours of operation and replace it annually or if it shows signs of wear or damage.
Regularly clean the guide bar groove, check for wear, and ensure proper lubrication. Rotate the guide bar periodically to promote even wear.
Check the fuel level and quality, inspect the spark plug for fouling, and ensure the air filter is clean. Verify that the ignition switch is on and the choke is set correctly.
To adjust the carburetor, locate the H (high speed) and L (low speed) screws. Turn them gently to adjust the fuel mixture, ensuring optimal engine performance. Refer to the manual for specific settings.
Ensure adequate chain lubrication by regularly checking the oil level and cleaning the oiler holes on the guide bar. Avoid cutting with a dull chain, which increases friction and heat.
Check the chain tension and adjust it according to the manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the guide bar and chain for damage or wear, and replace them if necessary.
