To install the Scanstrut DPT-R Mount, first choose a suitable location on your boat's deck. Ensure the surface is clean and dry. Use the provided template to mark the drill holes, and then drill accordingly. Secure the mount with stainless steel bolts, ensuring all fittings are tight to prevent movement.
You will need a drill with appropriate drill bits, a screwdriver set, a wrench or spanner, and stainless steel bolts and nuts. A spirit level may also be useful to ensure proper alignment.
If you're experiencing alignment issues, check if the mounting surface is level. Loosen the mount slightly and adjust its position, then retighten the bolts. Use a spirit level to ensure it is perfectly horizontal.
Regularly inspect the mount for any signs of corrosion or wear. Tighten any loose bolts and clean the mount with fresh water to remove salt and debris. Apply a protective coating to prevent corrosion if necessary.
