The recommended oil type for the Poulan Pro Z-Series PRO 900 ZX Mower is SAE 30 for general use. In colder climates, SAE 5W-30 can be used.
It is recommended to change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at least once per mowing season.
If the mower won't start, check the fuel level, ensure the fuel valve is open, check the spark plug connection, and make sure the battery is charged.
To clean the deck, ensure the mower is off and cool. Use a hose to remove grass clippings and debris. For thorough cleaning, use a scraper to remove stuck-on grass.
To improve cutting performance, ensure blades are sharp and properly aligned, adjust the cutting height, and mow only dry grass.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, loose bolts, or debris in the deck. Check and balance the blades, tighten bolts, and clean the deck.
To change the blades, turn off the mower, lift the deck, use a wrench to remove the blade bolt, replace the blade, and tighten the bolt securely.
At the end of the mowing season, clean the mower, change the oil, check the air filter, sharpen the blades, and store the mower in a dry, sheltered area.
To maintain the battery, keep it charged, clean the terminals regularly, and disconnect it if storing the mower for an extended period.
If the mower cuts unevenly, check the tire pressure, ensure the deck is level, and inspect the blades for damage or dullness.
