To engage the mower blades, ensure the throttle is set to full speed, then pull the blade engagement lever up to engage the blades.
If the engine does not start, check the battery connections, ensure there is fresh fuel, and inspect the spark plug for wear or damage.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours of operation or at least once per mowing season.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum of 87 octane and a maximum ethanol content of 10%.
Adjust the cutting height by moving the deck lift lever to the desired position, ensuring the tractor is on a level surface.
Check if the blades are dull or damaged, ensure the deck is clear of debris, and verify the cutting height is correctly set.
Inspect the drive belt for wear and proper tension, and check the transmission fluid level if applicable.
Use a garden hose with a spray nozzle to rinse off grass clippings and debris after each use, ensuring the tractor is turned off and cool.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil and air filter before each use, sharpening the blades every 25 hours, and inspecting belts and cables annually.
Ensure the tires are properly inflated, use tire chains if necessary, and always mow up and down slopes, not across.
