To start the Poulan Pro XT624ES Snow Thrower, ensure the unit is on a flat surface and the auger control is disengaged. Insert the key, set the choke to the full position, and press the primer bulb three times. Pull the starter handle or use the electric start, then gradually move the choke to the run position.
The Poulan Pro XT624ES Snow Thrower should be operated with unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent damage to the engine.
If the snow thrower won't start, check that there is sufficient fuel and the fuel valve is open. Ensure the spark plug is clean and properly connected, and verify that the key is inserted. If using the electric start, make sure the battery is charged.
Regularly inspect the auger and impeller for wear or damage. Clear any debris or ice build-up after each use. Lubricate the auger shaft annually with a high-quality grease to ensure smooth operation.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degradation. Clean the snow thrower thoroughly, lubricate moving parts, and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Cover the unit to protect it from dust and moisture.
To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, making it easier to drain. Turn off the engine and remove the oil drain plug. Allow the old oil to completely drain into a suitable container, then replace the plug and fill with the recommended oil type and amount.
Excessive vibration can be caused by damaged or unbalanced augers or impellers. Inspect these components for any signs of damage. Tighten any loose hardware and ensure that all parts are properly aligned.
The spark plug should be inspected and cleaned every season and replaced every 100 hours of operation or as needed if you notice performance issues such as hard starting or misfiring.
Regularly check the skid shoes and scraper blade for wear. Adjust the skid shoes to ensure proper clearance between the scraper blade and the ground. Replace these components if they show significant wear to prevent damage to surfaces.
Ensure the chute and deflector are clear of snow and ice. Adjust the deflector angle to achieve the desired throwing distance. Also, make sure the engine is running at full throttle for optimal performance.
