To start the Poulan Pro XC1182B Tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO is turned off, and the gear lever is in neutral. Then, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the start position.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Ensure that the fuel is fresh and clean to avoid engine issues.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 50 hours of operation or at the beginning of the mowing season.
Check the battery connections, ensure the fuel tank is full, and confirm that the spark plug is functioning. Also, verify that the safety features such as the parking brake and PTO switch are engaged.
To adjust the cutting height, use the lever located on the right side of the tractor. Move it to the desired height setting to raise or lower the mower deck.
Regularly inspect the blades for damage and sharpness. Sharpen or replace them as needed, typically every mowing season or after 25 hours of use.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with compressed air or replace it if it's too dirty. Ensure it's dry before reinstalling.
Check for debris lodged in the mower deck, ensure the blades are balanced and properly installed, and inspect the engine mounts for damage.
Keep the blades sharp, maintain proper tire pressure, and regularly clean the air filter. Also, avoid mowing wet grass to reduce engine strain.
Clean the tractor, change the oil, remove the battery, and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Add a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank to prevent fuel degradation.
