Poulan Pro SM400 Operator's Manual

To start the Poulan Pro SM400 Vacuum, ensure it is on a flat surface. Press the primer bulb several times, set the choke to the starting position, and pull the starter cord firmly until the engine starts.
Check if the bag or collection chamber is full. Ensure that the hose and attachments are not clogged. Also, inspect the vacuum for any blockages in the air flow path.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned after every 5 hours of use to maintain optimal performance. Replace it if it shows signs of wear or damage.
Use a gasoline and oil mix with a ratio of 40:1. Ensure the gasoline is unleaded and has an octane rating of at least 87.
Make sure that all parts and attachments are securely fastened. Check for worn or damaged parts that may need replacement. Use anti-vibration gloves if necessary.
After each use, empty the bag or collection chamber, clean the air filter, inspect the vacuum for any damage, and store it in a dry place.
Engine stalling can be due to a dirty air filter, stale fuel, or improper fuel mixture. Clean the air filter and ensure the fuel is fresh and correctly mixed.
To replace the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire, remove the old spark plug using a spark plug socket, and install the new one. Ensure it is properly gapped.
Unusual noises may indicate loose parts or debris caught in the impeller. Turn off the vacuum, inspect for obstructions, and tighten any loose components.
Drain the fuel tank, clean the vacuum thoroughly, and store it in a dry, cool place. Cover it to protect from dust and moisture.
